I am a true wine lover who enjoys one glass of red wine a day. However, motherhood has come with side effects and one of them is the lack of alcohol during months. Hence I decided to give some temporary use to my wine glasses and pour in them 10 mocktails and cocktails for every taste; in this way the waiting time before wine seems less tedious.
All the recipes below can be easily transformed into traditional cocktails by adding your favorite matching alcohol, at the end the idea is to create mocktails and cocktails for every taste and every event.
One last thought before I start with the recipes: wine has been, is, and will always be my passion and “the thing” that seals a successful day, apart from being my beauty elixir. So let’s make the best of this temporary stage and for all the moms, moms-to-be or guys who decided to have an alcohol-free drink, enjoy the collection below:
Shirley Ginger Mocktail
Ingredients for 1 glass:
- 1/2 lime juice extract
- 1 cup ginger ale
- 1/2 cup pomegranate
- 1 cup sparkling water
- Cherries to decorate
Stir the ginger ale, sparkling water, lime juice, and pomegranate in a pitcher. Pour into your favourite glasses; you can also add ice if you prefer. Garnish with cherries and/or lime slices. Enjoy!
Ingredients for 2 glasses:
- 1 cup pomegranate
- 1 Orange
- 10 Mint leaves
- 2 cups tonic water
Set aside 4 mint leaves, some of the pomegranate seeds, and 2 slices of orange to decorate the glasses. Take the juice of the orange, and mix it in a blender with the rest of the pomegranate and mint leaves. Once you have the juice, strain the juice to get a clear liquid. Decorate the glasses with sugar in the borders, serve the juice and top the content with the tonic water. Finally decorate with pomegranate seeds, orange slices, and mint leaves. Cheers and enjoy!
